We are deeply honored to represent the estate of beloved West Coast artist, Carol Summers. Summers is known as the pioneer of "monumental" woodcut prints with a unique method of bleeding pigments into porous paper which create an intense watercolor appearance. He is featured in notable public collections including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC) and the Art Institute of Chicago.
In moments like these, we look toward our mentors to find hope. To put the sparkle in our eyes and magic in our lives. This spirit brought us to Carol Summers. While his works are categorically landscapes, we look at them as sensations. The hills are rolling, the mountain peaks sharp, water falls and flows, comets streak across the sky; we see the elements, but they reach us as emotions. Each piece of Summers’ world is a reflection of an experience more than the structure of the landscape.
With Carol Summers as our guide, we can see the world in its brightest form. We’ve collected works that show his vibrance, unique glow, and inner light—the light of life itself. Sometimes dimmed, sometimes transferred, but never lost. The sun might be distant, but it’s still within reach.
Travel with us to Nepal, Tuscany, Bolivia, and China to experience the light of life through the many worlds of Carol Summers
