Carrie Lingscheit completed her BFA at the University of South Dakota in 2006, and her MFA at Ohio University in 2010. Her work has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions, dozens of invitational exchange portfolios, and is part of many private and public permanent collections including the US Library of Congress. She is also an administrator at the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois. Lingscheit is known for intaglio prints that exploit the subtleties of etching and mezzotint. She explores the themes of human behavior and affect, and examines the malleable nature of remembrance – presenting equivocal narratives that are often characterized by omission, distortion, and hyperbole.
